Point and aim assistance
1. Open the app and allow location access
2. Point your phone toward the flag/target
3. Enter the distance to the pin (swipe or tap)
4. Read your "playing distance" - the wind-adjusted distance
Make sure you're using a physical iPhone (compass doesn't work in simulator). If the compass seems inaccurate, move your phone in a figure-8 pattern to calibrate it. Stay away from metal objects and electronics.
Wind data is fetched from Apple WeatherKit using hyperlocal weather stations. Local conditions on the golf course may differ slightly. Use the manual adjustment feature to override if you can see the wind is different from what's shown.
Low: Knockdown shot, less affected by wind (0.7x)
Normal: Standard shot trajectory (1.0x)
High: High ball flight, more affected by wind (1.3x)
Tour Caddie analyzes wind, temperature, humidity, and precipitation to rate conditions:
Perfect: Ideal golfing weather
Good: Minor adjustments needed
Moderate: Plan for some wind effects
Challenging: Significant weather impact
Poor: Consider postponing
Contrary to popular belief, humid air is less dense than dry air, so the ball actually flies slightly farther in humidity. Tour Caddie accounts for this effect in hot, humid conditions.
At higher altitudes, the air is thinner and the ball flies farther. Tour Caddie adds approximately 2% distance per 1000 meters of elevation.

Yes! If you deny location access, you can still enter wind speed and direction manually. The compass and calculations will still work.
